The range of AirPods was expanded today, with Apple announcing AirPods Pro. Featuring Active Noise Cancellation, Adaptive EQ, and immersive sound in an all-new lightweight design. AirPods Pro is priced at a Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of A$399 and can be ordered from Apple online.
AirPods Pro has been designed by Apple and work very similar to other AirPods. From easy one-tap pairing with all your iCloud devices, automatic play and pause of music, long battery life, and more. They also include the same H1 Apple Chip. However, Innovative technology and an all-new design for better fit and audio quality make them earn the “Pro” label.
Active Noise Cancellation
Apple has built two microphones, both of which work together along with software to bring Active Noise Cancellation to AirPods for the first time. A technology that removes background noise by adapting the sound signal at 200 times per second.
Transparency Mode
For times you may want to hear some of the noise surrounding you, Apple has added Transparency mode. Essentially the microphones will filter the sound in – undoing the sound isolation of ANC.
Audio Quality
The quality of audio produced has been taken to the next level. A custom-built high-excursion, low-distortion driver delivers powerful bass, while a high-dynamic-range amplifier produces pure, incredibly clear sound.
Adaptive EQ has also been added with AirPods Pro. A technology that will automatically tune your music to suit the shape of your ear.
Design
AirPods Pro carries a lot of similarities from other AirPods in terms of design. And just like other models, they charge in a compact charging case – one that is compatible with wireless chargers. But there are some differences between AirPods and AirPods Pro.
For the first time, tapered silicone tips offer a customised fit for your ear and provide a seal for sound isolation. Included in the box are three different sizes of these ear tips.
To minimise pressure and discomfort (common issues in-ear designs experience) Apple has built-in an innovative vent system. The purpose? to equalise the pressure. AirPods Pro are sweat- and water-resistant, making them perfect for active lifestyles.
